The Jolly Bones Band

SNT Records proudly presents The Jolly Bones Band, the perennial favorite folk blues rock jam band. Famous for their Infinite Worlds Tour which begin in Cleveland, Ohio in the fall of 1966, the Jolly Bones have played in every city and every country on the planet, as well as touring neighboring planets, nearby galaxies, and other parallel dimensions.

The band was started by Milton Tupelo de la Coronado, a born prodigy with an amazingly nimble 7 fingered left hand and a single (but stout) finger on his right pickin’ hand. The legend of the Jolly Bones Band was formed when Milton (at age 11) ran away from La Pez del Cuelta (his small village home near San Diego) to become a pirate in the Caribbean. He rode Southeast Railway No. 1 from La Pez del Culeta to Ybor City, Florida where he was taught the mystical arts of rolling cigars by an old Cuban immigrant and singer named Ibrahim Fusona who settled the area. It was in Ybor City that Milton carved his own raft made from discarded cigar boxes and humidors. He set sail on his pirate adventure, only to be shipwrecked and nearly drowned in the mighty storm winds of the great and destructive Hurricane Elmer of 1958.

Milton washed ashore on an abandoned and mysterious island named La Luz (a name whispered only in hushed tones by the surrounding locals). He found the wreckage of an old privateer ship named the Crimson Raven, a ship of terrifying legend and feverish gold dreams. The local legends of La Luz speak of an old wraith named San Pedro de La Luz who inhabits the island, rising up on the fifth moon of each month. It is believed that San Pedro taught Milton the dark arts of bones folk, sea blues, and the rhythms of the waves. Milton carved his guitar from the old wood planks of the Crimson Raven, creating one of the most treasured guitars in all of music: Beowulf Shining. The unearthly, beautiful tones from Beowulf Shining revived the dry old bones of the Crimson Raven crew, who joined Milton as his band, roadies, security, transportation, personal chefs, health trainers, agents, managers, and label liaisons.

Their debut album, The Jolly Bones, was recorded live and in one take in a shack deep in the muddy swamps of Alabama. It remains a true American folk classic.

After recording their debut album for SNT Records, Milton and crew made their way to Cleveland in 1966, ransacking the city, leading protests at Kent State, levitating Case Western University, and beginning a never ending tour on the mighty shores of Lake Erie. A small group of freewheeling students joined them on the start of the Infinite Worlds Tour, forming the foundation of the JollyHeads, a cult fandom which has grown to become many millions of followers across many worlds.
